Wicklow based band Cohen Unlimited are returning to the Theatre Royal Waterford after selling out the historic venue 18 months ago.
The show has been touring Ireland now for 3 years celebrating the songs and poetry of legendary Canadian singer songwriter Leonard Cohen and this years show is extra special as it will be performed the week of Cohens 90th birthday which is being celebrated all around the world.
Lead singer Rob Doyle tells stories and anecdotes about the songs and Cohens life, about meeting Cohen for the first time back in 1979 in Zurich and about being asked to sing for Cohen and his band.
Doyle worked for many years as a photojournalist in Ireland and all over the world and his last paid job before retiring was to be official photographer at Cohens last Irish concert in 2013.
If you are a Cohen fan, dont miss this opportunity to hear this great band performing his greatest songs.

This is as close as you will get to hearing Cohen live, Doyle’s voice, stage persona
and performance are impeccable.

People travelled from Spain, Israel, the UK and Canada for this show and i can see why. 24 of Cohens greatest hits, stories about the songs and the man himself all delivered with incredible humility. Robert Doyle’s performance was superb as were the backing band and 2 backing vocalists.

Robert Doyle and his band Cohen Unlimited came to the theatre Royal and wowed hundreds of Cohen fans in a gentle nostalgic way. He doesn’t try to impersonate but rather doffs his hat in respect. I expect this will become an annual event in many venues.

Gillian K. Tonight Robert brought Leonard back to life.
Ann S. this is as good as i have ever seen on a stage. i will never forget tonight. what an emotional journey. The singer even looked and moved like Cohen tipping his hat in deference to the other band members when they did their solo spots.
Moira L. i have seen the show 5 times now and i am booked again, that says it all.
Linda D. I have never been a fan of tributes but this show is way beyond a tribute show, the respect and love for the songs shown by the singer put this on a completely different level to anything i have ever seen, i cried, i laughed and i sat in amazement at what i saw tonight in the Watergate Theatre.
Chris W. If you are a Leonard Cohen fan like me you have to see this show if it’s the last thing you ever do. Wow.
